Wow. I didn’t realize that juicing and cleansing diets are so popular with the Hollywood celebs. Yes we all have heard of the Beyonce Diet, or also known as the lemonade diet, but look at what this article shows about the different cleanses.
Stars reveal what keeps them so svelte!
On January 18th, reality starlet Whitney Port blogged about plans to try a three-day juice cleanse by Pressed Juicery. The cleanse consists of drinking six juices a day for three days. The svelte Port claims that she and a friend chose to participate in the cleanse after recently overindulging in lots of unhealthy eats. She blogged, “It is not about losing weight or trying the newest fad, but about being healthy and detoxifying our bodies.” Port hopes the cleanse will prevent her from feeling so “tired and sluggish” all the time.
Prior to her 2006 starring role in the film “Dreamgirls”, Beyonce Knowles shed 20 pounds fast with “The Master Cleanse.” The cleanse, also known as “The Lemonade Diet,” consists of drinking a mixture of water, lemon juice, maple syrup, and cayenne pepper for 10 days or more. While only moderate exercise with the cleanse is recommended, Knowles was reportedly doing extreme workouts sometimes twice a day with sessions supervised by her trainer and rehearsing scenes for her dancing and singing role. While the diet was effective, Knowles surprisingly does not recommend it, saying that the weight loss was not meant for long term. She said in an interview, “I ate everything when it was over…the second I looked at a donut, it came back! I gained back all the weight, even the weight I didn’t want to come back!” Anne Hathaway and Liv Tyler have also admitted to cleansing before major red carpet appearances, having used David Kirsch‘s 48-Hour Detox in the past. The juice mix has been described as a pre-made version of the Master Cleanse recipe with added vitamins and minerals.
Salma Hayek partnered up with longtime friend and “juice master”Eric Helms to design “The Cooler Cleanse,” a 3-5 day juice cleanse in which consumers will drink less than 1,200 calories a day! Hayek has reportedly been doing cleanses for decades to slim down for the red carpet and for special events, including her wedding. First lady, Michelle Obama, admits to occasionally cleansing by spending days eating only veggies and nothing else as a way to “clean out [her] palate” and rid of her sugar cravings.
Gwyneth Paltrow and Demi Moore swear by Dr. Alejandro Junger‘s 21-Day “Clean” program, which integrates the program’s signature shake as a meal replacement twice a day with a strict meal plan for snacks and lunch. Upon trying the cleanse, Moore tweeted to skeptical followers, “There is no starving involved! It is all about nourishing the body!” Both actresses say the program resulted in weight loss, increase in energy, and total body rejuvenation. Already tiny and toned Sarah Jessica Parker and “Gossip Girl” Jessica Szohr are among the celebrities who have tried the “Blue Print Cleanse.” The raw and vegan juice diet consists of six crafted juice mixes per day, which add up to about 1,000-1,200 calories.
I knew they would probably know about the weight loss effects of the master cleanse and other diets but I did not realize they knew the side benefits like the increased energy.
